Joe Hachem rose to glory in 2005, when he won World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas. As you can see in the video below, he hit his straight and caused the final opponent to call him with an ace and a straight draw. Hachem won 7.5 million dollars and a champion’s bracelet. Throughout the tournament he got the moral support from the crowd, as they were chanting the famous “Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi”. Joe made over 11 million dollars in live tournaments around the globe.
Jeff Lisandro is another famous Australian player, who has 6 WSOP bracelets and over $5,400,000 tournament winnings. Jeff has made name playing several variations of poker, not just Texas Hold’em. In 2009 he was crowned WSOP Player of the Year, when he won 3 bracelets in 3 different seven-card stud categories: Razz, Stud High and Stud High Low.
